Plus, with the versatility of these items, you can easily update the look according to your changing taste or even the season change.

ARTWORK

Look for budget-friendly art prints or create your own using cherry red as the primary color. This choice adds character and brings cohesion to the room. Consider framing these prints in simple black or white frames to enhance their visual impact without overwhelming the space. You might also explore gallery walls, where various sizes and styles of art can come together to create a dynamic focal point.

FURNITURE MAKEOVER

Give old furniture a fresh coat of cherry red paint. A small table, chair, or nightstand can become a striking piece in the room. Not only does this add a pop of color, but it also breathes new life into items that might otherwise be overlooked. Pair these revitalized pieces with neutral or complementary colors to ensure they stand out as the focal point they are meant to be. Additionally, consider updating the hardware on these pieces for an extra touch of style—sleek black or metallic handles can enhance the modern feel, while vintage knobs can add a touch of nostalgia.

Opt for decorative pillows in varying shades of red and textures to add depth and interest to the bed. Consider incorporating a soft, plush throw in a contrasting color, such as cream or gray, to enhance the cozy atmosphere. By layering these elements, your bedding will become a focal point, exuding a welcoming and stylish vibe.

To create a visually appealing and inviting bed, consider the impact of decorative pillows in various shades of red, ranging from deep burgundy to bright cherry. This color palette not only adds warmth but also introduces a dynamic element to the overall design.

LIGHTING

Opt for table lamps with bold cherry red bases or choose lampshades that feature patterns incorporating this lively hue. Floor lamps with adjustable heads can also provide both functionality and a splash of color, perfect for reading nooks or cozy corners. Consider string lights with cherry red accents for subtle, ambient lighting that adds a whimsical touch. By selecting lighting that complements your decor, you can effortlessly enhance the atmosphere of your bedroom, making it feel both chic and cheerful.

RUGS AND MATS

Consider placing a plush rug at the foot of your bed or a smaller mat by your bedside to create a cozy landing spot each morning. Look for designs that incorporate subtle patterns or textures to add visual interest without overwhelming the space. Layering a cherry red rug over neutral carpeting can also create a striking contrast, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the room. 10 TRICKS TO MAKE YOUR SMALL BATHROOM FEEL MORE SPACIOUS

REPLACE OLD HARDWARE

Are you tired of feeling cramped and claustrophobic in your small bathroom? Don't worry, you're not alone. Many homeowners struggle with making the most out of their tiny spaces. But the good news is that there are simple and affordable tricks that can transform your bathroom into a spacious oasis that you'll love. In this article, we'll share 10 expert tips to make your small bathroom feel larger than life. From adding a fresh coat of paint to investing in a glass door for your shower, these budget-friendly ideas will help you create an open and inviting space that you'll enjoy using every day. So, let's dive in and learn how to make your small bathroom feel more spacious!

ADD PAINT

One way to make your bathroom feel more spacious is by adding a fresh coat of paint. Choose a light, neutral color like white or beige which will reflect light and make your bathroom appear larger. If you want to add a pop of color, consider painting the ceiling or a single accent wall. An unexpected splash of color can create a focal point and draw the eye upwards, making the room feel taller. Alternatively, consider a textured paint finish which can add depth and interest to your walls without overpowering the space. With a little bit of paint, your small bathroom can feel bright, airy, and open.

USE A WALLPAPER THAT HAS LARGE PRINTS

One way to add visual interest and depth to your small bathroom is by choosing a wallpaper that has large prints. While small patterns and busy designs can make a space feel cramped, larger prints can create a sense of openness and expansiveness. Look for wallpapers with geometric shapes, floral patterns, or other graphic prints that will add dimension to your walls without overwhelming the space.

Just remember to choose a wallpaper that complements the rest of your bathroom decor and doesn't clash with other elements, like any existing tile or fixtures. And if you're hesitant to commit to a full wall of wallpaper, consider adding it to just a single accent wall instead.

Of course, like with any decor choice, less is often more. Don't go overboard with too many patterns or colors, or the effect could be overwhelming. But when chosen thoughtfully and used sparingly, a wallpaper with large prints can be a great way to make your small bathroom feel more spacious and visually interesting.

To really make the most of your wallpaper, be sure to keep your bathroom floor clean and clutter-free. Not only will this help the space feel more open and airy, but it will also allow your wallpaper to take center stage and be the focal point of the room.,

KEEP FLOOR CLEAN

To really make the most of your wallpaper, it's important to keep the bathroom floor clean and clutter-free. A messy floor can quickly make the space feel cramped and smaller than it actually is. Additionally, a clean floor allows your wallpaper to take center stage and be the focal point of the room. It's a small detail, but it can have a big impact on the overall feel of the space. Now, to further enhance the decor, consider adding a gallery wall to the bathroom.,

ADD A GALLERY WALL

Adding a gallery wall to your small bathroom can not only add a stylish touch, but it can also create the illusion of more space. By carefully selecting a mix of small and large frames and coordinating them with your bathroom's color scheme, you can create a cohesive look that draws the eye upward. The added visual interest will take the focus off the limited space and make your bathroom feel more spacious and inviting. Plus, it's a great opportunity to showcase your favorite artwork or family photos.

To complement the gallery wall, consider using accent lighting to highlight your favorite pieces. This will not only draw attention to the wall, but it will also create a warm and welcoming ambiance. With the right lighting and decor, your small bathroom will feel like a stylish retreat.

USE LIGHTS

To further enhance the illusion of space in your small bathroom, lighting plays a crucial role. By strategically placing lighting fixtures, you can create a brighter, more airy atmosphere, which can make even the tiniest bathroom feel larger. Consider adding recessed lighting above the vanity or above the shower area. This will help eliminate shadows and dark corners, making the space feel more open. Additionally, you can use accent lighting to highlight certain features in your bathroom, such as the gallery wall we previously discussed. Using lighting in conjunction with other design elements can create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that will make your small bathroom feel like a luxurious retreat.

ADD MORE MIRRORS

To maximize the impact of lighting, consider adding more mirrors to your small bathroom. Mirrors reflect light and create the illusion of more space, making them an essential tool in small bathroom design. You may want to consider adding a full-length mirror or a large mirror above the vanity to reflect light and make the bathroom feel open and airy. With a bit of thought and creativity, you can use lighting and mirrors to create a small bathroom that feels much larger than its actual size.
Replacing old hardware is an easy and budget-friendly way to give your small bathroom a refreshed look. By switching out outdated towel bars, faucets, and cabinet handles with sleek and modern options, you can instantly bring your bathroom up-to-date. This small change will make a big impact on the overall aesthetic of your space, making it feel more stylish and cohesive.

INVEST IN A GLASS SHOWER DOOR

Consider adding a glass shower door to your small bathroom as a way to enhance the feeling of spaciousness. The transparency of the glass allows natural light to flow through the space, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. Investing in a glass shower door, combined with updated hardware, will make a big impact on the overall aesthetic of your bathroom, making it feel more stylish and cohesive. With these simple updates, your small bathroom will feel like a luxurious retreat.

USE SHELVES

To maximize the functionality of your small bathroom and keep it feeling spacious, add shelves. Shelves are a great way to create storage that is both practical and beautiful. Consider installing floating shelves above the toilet or on an empty wall to keep towels, toiletries, and other bathroom essentials organized and easily accessible. When choosing shelves, opt for ones with clean lines and a minimalist design to keep the space feeling open and clutter-free. By using shelves to create storage in your bathroom, you'll free up valuable floor space, making the room feel larger and more functional.

USE VERTICAL SPACE

To add even more storage and functionality to your small bathroom, don't forget to utilize vertical space. Instead of just adding shelves to the walls, consider installing a towel rack that hangs vertically over the door or on a free wall. You can also hang baskets or small shelves from the ceiling to store items like extra toilet paper or hair styling tools. If you have high ceilings, consider installing tall, slim cabinets or shelving units to take advantage of that space.

Not only will using vertical space provide more storage options, it can also draw the eye upward, giving the illusion of a taller ceiling and a larger overall space. However, be sure not to overdo it - too many hanging or tall items can still make the room feel cluttered and cramped. Stick to a few carefully chosen pieces that will make a big impact.

By considering every available inch of your small bathroom, and using clever storage solutions like shelves and vertical racks, you can create a functional and beautiful space that feels much larger than its square footage suggests.

Creating DIY decor for your gender-neutral nursery is not only budget-friendly, but also allows you to showcase your creativity and personal style. These charming and unique pieces are sure to make your nursery a cozy and inviting space for your little one. To add even more personal touches and make your nursery feel truly special, consider incorporating some sentimental items or heirlooms into the decor

Another way to add personality and uniqueness to your gender-neutral nursery is by getting creative with textures and patterns. This doesn't have to be complicated or expensive; simply incorporating different materials and prints can make a big impact.

Consider adding a cozy, textured rug to the floor or hanging patterned curtains to add visual interest to the windows. You could also experiment with mixing and matching different patterns in the bedding, such as stripes, polka dots, or geometric shapes.

Another fun idea is to incorporate wallpaper with a bold pattern or texture onto one accent wall. This not only adds visual interest but also creates a focal point in the room.

By combining different textures and patterns, you can create a playful and inviting space for your little one to grow and explore. And with so many options available, the possibilities for creativity and personal expression are endless.

DECORATING YOUR DORM ROOM FOR CHEAP

inspired - beauty.com

After tuition and other college-related fees, buying decorations for a dorm room may seem impossible. However, you really should invest in some decor items.  There are several reasons you should invest in decorating the room.  Most dorm rooms lack ...everything. The rooms are small and the floor and walls are just cold.  Unless things have changed big time since I went to college you're going to want a little something.  Below are some ideas for decorating your dorm room for cheap.

DECORATE THE WALLS

To dress up the cold walls of your dorm room, try using DIY frames, photo collages, and wall decals.

HEADBOARD

There are several tutorials on YouTube, all are within anyone's budget.

RUG

Like I said above, dorm floors are cold, and if you are lucky enough to have a dorm room with a carpet a nice rug wouldn't hurt. Most door rugs can be brought very cheaply. Because the room is so small a small rug may be necessary.

CURTAINS

For a little pop of color, you can drape fabric over the window.  However, if you know someone skilled in sewing you should get them to sew a curtain.

LOFT BED

This can be functional as well as decorative.  I recommend this in my organize for college post as well.  Depending on the height, you can put furniture under it or use it for storage.  A lot of people buy dorm skirts, but you can take a regular sheet to cover.  Make sure it's nice.

ADD FULL-LENGTH MIRROR

This is another one of those functional, but decorative things you may want to bring.  Mirrors often make a space look bigger and create the illusion that an area is better lighted. In a dorm room lighting can be important, besides everyone needs to know how they look.

STRING LIGHTS

Again any wall decor would be great.  Most Dorms probably won't have much space to decorate.  So the walls is key.

PILLOWS

I think you should have pillows. Although I think you should keep it down to a maximum of two or three. You can get pillows from any clearance section of a discount store, or make them yourself.

CONTACT PAPER

Putting contact paper on your furniture will take your dorm room to another level.  You can find contact paper at any dollar store, or discount store.

PIECES FROM HOME

Don't bring too much.  A practical approach is always necessary. However, decor from home is the cheapest way to decorate a room.  Also you have the added bonus of having things from home around, in case you get homesick.

You may want to buy cheaply, but personally, I think you should splurge on some items.  The items I suggest are those you can see using after college.  Everything else well...this post is about decorating your dorm room for cheap.

PRACTICAL DORM ROOM ORGANIZATIONAL ESSENTAILS

Before you buy anything you should view the space that you will be staying in first.  Ideally, talk with your roommate.  One suggestion I would give to anyone going to college is to stay a night or two if possible, this way you can see what you really need.  Until then bring the bare minimum.  When are going to buy these organizational products will come in very handy.

Under the bed

Flip the bed to make room under the bed for cheap. Or if you want a loft bed you can get bed raisers and store items under and even put a desk or dresser for maximum space.

Plastic dresser

It is a great storage space to organize items.  It can even serve as a nightstand.

Storage ottomans

Storage ottomans can be used for organization and double as seating.

Shoe rack

Investing in a shoe rack is a great way to organize your shoes and avoid clutter.  Shoe racks are a great way to organize your shoes and are an efficient use of space!

Velvet hangers

Velvet hangers decrease space giving you more room for other organizing items and other organizing containers. However, the most budget-friendly way is to limit the amount of clothing that you bring.

Utility Cart

Most utility carts can fit in small spaces.  They can be used for all sorts of items to fill your organizational needs.

Storage Trunk

A storage trunk is one of my favorite storage ideas. They are very durable, hold a ton of stuff, and can be used as extra seating when you have friends over.  As an added bonus this can be used as a suitcase.

Bedside Caddy

If you like to do a lot of reading in bed this handy organizer may be for you.

Cosmetic Organizer

It doesn't have to hold only make-up. It can hold any small item that you want to organize.  This item can be purchased cheaply from the dollar store or dollar general.

Investing in these organizational items will help to keep organized while in college, but some will be carried over to the first apartment.

If your apartment has outdated or unattractive carpet, covering it with a stylish rug is a cost-effective solution. Rugs come in various sizes, colors, and patterns, allowing you to express your personality while protecting the carpet underneath. They also define spaces and add a layer of comfort underfoot.

USE PEEL AND STICK TILES

Much like their wallpaper counterparts, peel and stick tiles are perfect for renters looking to refresh kitchens or bathrooms. They’re affordable, easy to install, and come in a variety of designs that mimic more expensive materials like marble or ceramic.

INVEST IN PEEL AND STICK HOOKS

Peel and stick hooks are versatile tools for organizing and decorating. Use them to hang artwork, curtains, or even kitchen utensils without drilling holes. They’re perfect for temporary solutions and can be moved around with ease.

PAINT OR USE WALL DECALS

A fresh coat of paint can do wonders for your apartment, but if painting isn’t an option, wall decals are a fantastic alternative. They come in a multitude of designs, from geometric shapes to floral patterns, and can be easily applied and removed without leaving a trace.

GET CLEAR CONTACT PAPER FOR WINDOWS

Instead of using outdated or unattractive blinds, consider applying clear contact paper to your windows. This will allow natural light to filter through while still providing privacy. It’s an affordable solution that can give your apartment a sleek and modern look.

FAUX LIGHTING

Faux lighting techniques, like LED candles or battery-operated lanterns, can add warmth and charm to your space without the need for electrical work. They’re safe, portable, and perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere in any room.

MAXIMIZE VERTICAL SPACE

When floor space is limited, look upwards! Utilize vertical space by installing shelves or using tall bookcases. This not only provides additional storage but also draws the eye up, making rooms feel larger and more open. Display books, plants, or decorative items to personalize your space.

HOW TO CREATE A GUEST BEDROOM ON A BUDGET

Your guest room may not be the most used space in the home, but it certainly is important.

It often times is a representation of how others view your home.  Guest may see a untidy

room as a sign of how you keep the rest of your home.  So, it may be a good idea to pay

some attention to this room.

Creating a special space for your close friends and family doesn’t have to take a huge

budget.  In fact, some of the things you'll need, you already have.

Below are items that are must-haves in a guest bedroom.

BED

If you google cheap beds you should be able to find a bed within your budget. There is also

discount stores and other odd places where you can secure a bed. One idea I heard of is

taking a futon and a mattress in a box from target to get a budget-friendly comfy bed.

Ikea and Wayfair seems to be a great place to look for a budget-friendly bed.

BEDDING

Make sure that bedding is clean and comfortable. You should have at least four pillows,

more if you can afford it. Stores I suggest are Ross and TjMaxx.  Both normally have name-

brand sheets, pillows, and duvet covering.

Pillows

I think that pillows are a must-have. You would be surprise how much this matters.

Discount stores will have deals on these.

De-clutter

This should one of first things you tend to.  Your guest bedroom shouldn't be a dumping

ground for all the things you don't use.  If you have this much stuff its time to sell or

donate. No one wants to walk over your things to get around the room, quick way to a bad

reputation.

These are things that are good to have, but are not ALL of them are necessary:

Storage

Unless you want your guest to live out of their suitcase, have a place for guest to put their

clothes away.  This means a clear closet or some what clear closet with a few hangers. This

comes at little to no expense.

Nightstand

This is always good to have. Guest need a place to put things on.  You can find cheap

nightstands at most discount stores.  Facebook market place is a good place to look as well

thrift stores, and other second hand stores.  It's always great if you have a close family

member to get this from. Or you can look into a DYI project.

Wi-fi password written

Most guest need this. So I urge you to come up with a way to display the password, so

guest don't have to ask you the password.  Guest hate asking for things.

Lots of Blankets

Different people are a custom to different temperatures.  This gives guest the ability to

control there temperature.  Since this isn't a must have I would put a blanket in the room

and pick up more whenever, I saw a deal on Blankets.

Clock

Guest may want to know the time without looking at their phone.

Clean trashcan

Guest may want to... isn't it obvious.

Lighting

Make sure it's easy for your guest to find the lighting.  A simple table lamp is a quick fix.

A ceiling fan is also nice, but make sure your guest know how to use it.

Mirror

Guest want need to see how they look.

Plant and some art

This is another nice to have.  You may want some decorations in your guestroom

Throw pillows

Throw pillows are nice you can find some somewhat cheaply, these add to the decor of the room.

Welcome Basket

This is just nice to have.  Just get a bowl or basket if you have one. You may fill this with

water bottles and snacks.  You may want to even include other things you think they may

need or like.  Go to the Dollar General to pick up these items.  This will enhance there stay

and the quality of your guest bedroom.

Plant

So,  now that you have learned these basic elements, you should be well on your way to creating a Guest bedroom that your friends and family should enjoy for many years to come.
