APPLY THESE TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE CASTLECORE

Castlecore is an enchanting aesthetic that can transform everyday life into a romanticized medieval

fantasy. However, creating this magical atmosphere doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Here are

some budget-friendly ways to incorporate the castlecore aesthetic into your life.

DIY DECOR

Instead of purchasing expensive antiques, get creative with DIY projects. Use thrifted or second-hand

materials to craft your own tapestries, candle holders, or wall art. Look for items like old picture frames,

which can be repurposed with a coat of gold spray paint for a regal touch.

By being resourceful and creative, you can embrace the romantic allure of castlecore without straining

your finances. Remember, the essence of this trend is about embracing the fantasy and magic of a bygone

era, allowing it to enrich your life in a personal and meaningful way.

KEY ELEMENTS OF CASTLECORE

ARCHITECTURE AND DECOR:

Stone walls, whether real or faux, are a striking feature that can instantly evoke the sense of a medieval

castle. While not everyone can afford to live in a centuries-old fortress, there are creative ways to mimic

this look in your home. Consider using peel-and-stick stone wallpaper for an affordable and easy-to-install

option. This can be applied to a feature wall to give the space an authentic and rustic feel without the

hassle and expense of real stonework.

For a more textured appearance, you can use faux stone panels, which offer depth and a more tactile

experience. These panels can be found at home improvement stores and are designed to be installed with

minimal tools and expertise. By focusing on a single wall, you can make a bold statement that captures

the rugged charm of castle walls.

INCORPORATING TAPESTRIES

Whether handcrafted or thrift can add a layer of warmth and color to your space, evoking the rich history

and artistry of medieval times. Consider hanging a tapestry above a fireplace (if you have one) or along a

hallway to create a focal point that draws the eye and sparks the imagination.

Not only do tapestries serve as beautiful wall hangings, but they can also be used in creative ways to

transform furniture. Drape a tapestry over a sofa or use it as a tablecloth for an instant touch of elegance.

This approach not only adds to the aesthetic but also provides a cozy, layered feel that is both inviting and

visually appealing.

LIGHTING

To complement the stone look, adorn your walls with iron sconces or candle holders to add a touch of

medieval illumination. These can often be found second-hand or made as a DIY project using simple

materials like wrought iron or even painted wood. The warm glow of candlelight will enhance the stone's

natural beauty, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a grand castle hall.

Chandeliers are a quintessential element of castlecore decor, reminiscent of grand dining halls and

opulent ballrooms. However, you don't need a royal budget to bring this touch of elegance into your

home. Here are some tips for acquiring and installing chandeliers without breaking the bank:

FURNITURE

Thrift Shops and Flea Markets are treasure troves for finding unique and affordable antique furniture.

Look for solid wood pieces that might need some TLC, such as refinishing or reupholstering. You can also

find furniture at online marketplaces, estate sales, and online auctions. With a bit of creativity, you

can restore these items to their former glory and add a touch of historical elegance to your home.

Consider purchasing furniture that may not be in perfect condition and transforming it with some DIY

skills. Sanding, painting, or reupholstering can breathe new life into old furniture, making it an attractive

and cost-effective addition to your decor.

Look for modern furniture is designed to replicate antique styles. These pieces maybe cheaper.  You

should look into bartering or trading with friends or online communities. By exploring these options, you

can furnish your space with beautiful antique pieces that reflect the castlecore aesthetic, all while staying

within a budget.

To fully embrace the castlecore lifestyle, one can start by incorporating small elements into daily life.

This might mean redesigning a room to reflect the grandeur of a castle or taking up a new hobby that

aligns with the aesthetic. The key is to immerse oneself in the fantasy and romance of a bygone era,

allowing it to inspire and enrich everyday experiences.

HOW TO ACHIEVE HIPSTORIC DESIGN IN YOUR HOME ON A BUDGET

Are you tired of the same old cookie-cutter designs in your home? Do you want to add some personality and charm without breaking the bank? Enter hipstoric design, the perfect combination of vintage and modern elements that creates an eclectic and stylish atmosphere. In this post, we will take you through five easy steps to achieve hipstoric design on a budget, including starting with a neutral base, mixing and matching patterns and textures, finding treasures at thrift stores, tapping into your inner DIY guru, and accessorizing with vintage and modern pieces. Get ready to transform your space into a hipstoric masterpiece without spending a fortune

START WITH A NEUTRAL BASE

To achieve hipstoric design in your home on a budget, it is important to start with a neutral base. Using neutral colors such as beige, white, cream, and gray as the foundation for your design will allow you to add in pops of color with vintage and modern pieces without overwhelming the space. Plus, neutral colors provide a calming atmosphere that is perfect for creating a relaxed and stylish environment. By starting with a neutral base, you give yourself the flexibility to add any vintage, modern, or thrifted pieces you want, without the worry of clashing colors.

MIX AND MATCH PATTERNS AND TEXTURES

Once you have your neutral base in place, it's time to start incorporating patterns and textures into your hipstoric design. Mixing and matching patterns and textures is a great way to add personality and interest to your space. However, it's important to use these design elements in a cohesive way, so your home doesn't end up looking like a cluttered mess.

One way to mix patterns and textures is to start with a large-scale pattern, such as a bold floral or geometric print, and then add in smaller-scale patterns and textures around it. For example, if you have a floral print pillow, pair it with a striped or polka dot throw. Then, add a woven or knitted blanket for texture.

Another technique is to stick with a color palette when mixing patterns and textures. If you have a blue and green floral print, add a solid blue throw pillow and a green plaid blanket to complement the colors in the print. This creates a cohesive look without overwhelming the space.

In the next section, we'll explore how to incorporate thrift store finds into your hipstoric design. By mixing and matching patterns and textures with your vintage finds, you can create a unique and stylish space while staying within your budget.

THRIFT STORE FINDS FOR DAYS

When it comes to achieving hipstoric design on a budget, thrift store shopping is a must. These second-hand stores are a treasure trove of unique finds that can add character and personality to your space. Keep an open mind and try to envision how items can be repurposed or reimagined before dismissing them. A vintage lamp may just need a fresh coat of paint, and a worn-out armchair can become a statement piece with a funky new fabric.

Looking for inspiration? Follow favorite designers and bloggers on social media and study their thrift store finds. You'll be amazed at what they can do with a little creativity and elbow grease. With so many affordable options available, it’s easy to mix and match patterns, colors, and textures to create a cohesive design scheme that doesn't break the bank.

ACCESSORIZE WITH VINTAGE AND MODERN PIECES

To truly achieve a hipstoric design in your home, you need to focus on the details. Adding vintage and modern pieces can take your design to the next level and truly make your space unique.

When it comes to vintage pieces, don't be afraid to get creative. Look for unique items at thrift stores or estate sales, and think outside the box when incorporating them into your design. An old wooden ladder could become a unique bookshelf, while vintage suitcases could be stacked and used as a bedside table.

Modern pieces can also add a pop of personality to your hipstoric design. Look for bold, geometric shapes or bright colors to add a modern touch to your space. Don't be afraid to mix and match vintage and modern pieces - it's all about creating a space that reflects your personal style.

As with all design choices, it's important to strike a balance between old and new. Too many vintage pieces can make your space feel cluttered and dated, while too many modern pieces can make it feel impersonal. Finding the right balance of vintage and modern pieces is the key to achieving a truly hipstoric design.

Incorporating hipstoric design into your home doesn't have to cost a fortune. With a neutral base, a mix of vintage and modern finds, and some DIY creativity, you can transform your space into a stylish and affordable haven. As you begin your hipstoric journey, always remember that the beauty is in the imperfections. So, embrace the quirky patterns, the chipped paint, and the unique accessories that make your home truly one-of-a-kind.

Postmodern interior design was a popular design style that reached its greatest height between the years of the 1970s through the 1990s. The toned down of this style in today's homes is comprised of more muted hues.

MAXIMALIST DESIGN : WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

Maximalism is a design trend focusing on a story about the owner of the space.  It's more about bringing in loved colors, patterns, and decorations.  Maximalist design differ from minimalism or warm minimalism in that maximalist design is a celebration of color, and it's main principal is "more is more". A quick example of what maximalist design, would be my grandmother's house filled with trinkets and photos of family members everywhere.

After hours of research into this design trend, I come to realize that it is a design trend that most on a budget would love and a design style (in my opinion) will stay around for awhile.

A maximalist space is a space that is filled with color and personal items.  If you're afraid of color you won't like this design style. Those who have a collection of items will love this style. Those who love to read will like this style. Finally anyone who loves DYI projects and thrifting this design style is for you.

GET THE LOOK

The color palette for a maximalist design space is mostly bold colors.  Although, neutral colors can be use they are often paired with bright colors.  Pastel colors can also be used, but should be paired with bold prints.

FURNITURE

Any furniture is welcome here but, thrift store finds, inherited, vintage, or upcycled or DYI furniture is the star of maximalist design.  Dupes are also great for maximalist style. Those on a budget should not change their furniture much at all.

ACCESSORIES

Those wanting to do this style on a budget will introduce books, pictures, and any trinkets that mean a lot. Collectables and books are really great.

ART

Gallery walls are also a staple of maximalist design. Those on a budget should stick to this.  If you want to spurge, go for big bold art.

PATTERNS AND TEXTURES

Another key is add a lot of textures.  I've seen some really bold patterns also.   A nice chunky throw and throw pillows with patterns will aid in nailing the maximalist design.

If you are able, a coat of paint is great to use in this space. If budget allows wallpaper with bold prints is great to incorporate into the space.

Maximalist Design seem perfect for those on a budget and those who love to decorate.

A Warm Minimalist interior is about balancing a clutter-free space, simple silhouettes, and clean lines but also adds natural textures. Unlike Minimalism, Warm Minimalism is a very personal design style.

WHO WOULD LIKE WARM MINIMALISM

Warm Minimalism is very budget-friendly, so anyone who really wants a beautiful home on a budget will love this style.  Also, those who don't like a lot of clutter, yet want to personalize their space with items they love.

GET THE LOOK

COLOR PALETTE

Warm Minimalism has a simple color palette.   Warm tones and neutral colors make up this style.  The main of this element of this style is to stay away from pure white on the walls. White with a warm undertone is best.

FURNITURE

Warm Minimalism is bringing in smooth shapes and curves.  Although, old solid pieces or those DIY pieces that must be shown off may be incorporated into the space.  Old vintage pieces are more than welcome. Beware of too much furniture that matches.

PATTERNS AND TEXTURES

Using different textures is great for a warm minimalist space. Adding in a chunky throw along with a simple pattern or {no pattern at all} throw pillow is great. For curtains stick to neutral color and use sheer or no curtains if you can get away with it. Finally, rugs should be neutral or solid color{amazon has great rugs}, and if you can afford it, a nice jute rug would be nice.

ACCESSORIES

The few things that you will choose for this space, should be ceramic and wood.  Avoid plastics, vinyl, and other such materials.  Bring in plants and other natural elements.

ART

Large simple pieces of art are great for a warm minimalist room.  Since large artwork normally costs a lot I advised you to Make your own art.  This will add even more personality to the room.

If you incorporate these things into your space your home should look nice and inviting and not cold.
